A high of 20.4c today at my station and you can hear the grass grow as the lawn turns green on my webcam facing east.

Tomorrow marks the start of August which is the last month of the meteorological season of Summer, for some it (wrongly 😜) is the start of Autumn.

Regardless of the season August will start off wet and breezy with a band of raining crossing the country tomorrow morning into the afternoon in a strong southerly breeze, around 19c.

Thursday will be much milder up to 23c with some showers about and still breezy.

Friday will see less showers and up to 22c in light breeze.

The bank holiday still looks warm but not as warm as models had shown with temps up to 25c and the best of the sunshine likely to be Sunday and Monday.

There is a small risk of some thundery showers Monday but too far out to call yet.

Beyond Monday the weather models are very uncertain but it will likely become less mild with the odd shower.

More tomorrow.
