A mixed day but a lovely evening in Carlow, photo from Saint Mullins today and there is some hope for warmer weather by the end of the week.
After a high of 12.3c it will drop to -1c tonight with risk of fog again.
Tomorrow will be another mix of sunshine and showers in a fresh Northerly breeze around 12c.
Tuesday which marks the start of May and the start of the season of summer for some will be a rather poor day with temps struggling to get above 10c and rain arriving in the afternoon and evening with a strong Southerly breeze.
Wednesday will be a showery breezy and cool day with temps around 11c.
Thursday then sees a rise in temps as it will get to 15c with sunny spells in a strong Westerly breeze.
Friday and the bank holiday weekend at present look milder with temps above 15c and good sunny spells but too early to say for certain yet.
